Summary: Growing business, estate and elder law firm will hire an ambitious, enthusiastic, independent, motivated, self-driven, Texas attorney, who has excellent work ethic with high character and integrity, who is looking to be part of a successful, dynamic, expanding law firm, and who has at least five years of experience and established client base and consistent referral sources. Our practice focuses on establishing business entities, estate planning for individuals of all socio-economic demographics, helping elderly and disabled individuals qualify for government benefits, and guiding clients through guardianship and probate.
Responsibilities: Drafting legal documents and legal pleadings; researching statutes and court cases and writing legal briefs and memoranda; appearing, negotiating, and advocating in state courts; reviewing and analyzing documents and records; interviewing prospective clients; consulting and giving appropriate legal advice to clients; using case management software and entering contemporaneous time activity; maintaining client case records and reporting performance statistics in a complete and timely manner; participating in staff meetings, training seminars, and community activities;
Requirements: Documented authorization to work in the United States; License to practice law by the Supreme Court of Texas; Membership in the State Bar of Texas without disciplinary complaints in good standing; at least five years of experience practicing business, estate, and/or elder law; must have a significant client base and consistent referral sources; Litigation and trial experience is a plus; ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents; ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries; ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and boards of directors; ability to draft legal documents and briefs, using correct citation form and organization; while performing the duties of this job ability to frequently stand, walk, sit, and use hands to handle or feel; ability to occasionally stoop, lift, and move up to ten pounds; ability to talk and hear; ability to look at and see a computer screen and read words up close; ability to use a computer, Microsoft office, case management software, and enter time activity.
