A Full Service Creditor’s Rights Firm, a suburban St. Louis AV rated law firm seeks a collection attorney. Court attendance and knowledge of state and federal collection law experience preferred. Superior organizational, time management and people skills. Experience handling circuit court dockets; trial and bankruptcy experience a plus. The position offers an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated attorney to participate in all facets of commercial and retail collection litigation throughout the state of MO. - Provide comprehensive review of all conditions precedent to filing of the action, including review of documents, financials, notices and demand letters.
- Draft and review pleadings and correspondence to initiate actions.
- Ensure all internal systems are updated to include findings, documentation, and recommendations.
- Exercise a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Safeguard compliance with local, state, and federal foreclosure, bankruptcy, and collections requirements, as applicable.
- Handle contested matters, including discovery and trials.
- Intermediate to advanced-level computer and general office skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate through both verbal and written electronic correspondence.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze corrective action opportunities and present recommendations.
- Meticulous analytical, organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently.
Required Education and Training
- Juris Doctor
- 1-3 years legal experience
- Bar membership in Missouri
- Basic principles of Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control
