About the role:As an Associate Attorney at JSL, you will participate in all phases of civil litigation and work closely with experienced attorneys on a diverse range of matters. This position offers significant client contact and courtroom exposure, along with the opportunity to develop strong litigation and trial skills in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Handling administrative complaints and agency proceedings;
- Analyzing claims and developing litigation strategy;
- Researching and addressing complex legal issues;
- Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda;
- Taking and defending depositions;
- Writing and arguing substantive law and motion, including dispositive motions;
- Participating in mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences;
- Assisting with trial preparation and trial proceedings; and
- Working directly with clients, experts, and witnesses throughout the litigation process.
What We're Looking For:
We are seeking attorneys with 2–6 years of litigation experience who possess excellent research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and eager to take ownership of their cases while working collaboratively with colleagues.
Candidates must be licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar.
