Position Overview:
We are seeking an Associate Attorney with 1–3 years of family law experience or comparable prior experience in the family law field. Experience may include prior work in a non-attorney role within family law, including clerkship, paralegal, or similar legal support experience.

This position offers substantial hands-on litigation experience and the opportunity to manage cases from inception through resolution.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct initial client consultations and client meetings
  • Manage assigned family law cases from start to finish
  • Draft pleadings, declarations, memoranda of points and authorities, and related filings
  • Conduct legal research and factual analysis
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff
  • Prepare for and attend hearings, depositions, mediations, evidentiary hearings, and trial
  • Participate in and conduct Divorce Mediation (Depending on prior experience, Introduction Training may be available as well as Continuing Education)
  • Draft and respond to written discovery
  • Evaluate discovery responses for sufficiency
  • Draft meet and confer correspondence and motions to compel
  • Maintain accurate case management records and deadlines
  • Ensure compliance with applicable procedural and evidentiary rules

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • 1–3 years of family law experience preferred
  • Active membership in the California State Bar
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience drafting declarations, pleadings, and memoranda of points and authorities
  • Working knowledge of:
  • California Rules of Court
  • California Family Code
  • California Evidence Code
  • California Code of Civil Procedure
  • Experience appearing as principal counsel in court proceedings where issues were submitted for decision
  • Strong organizational and case management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
  • Experience with legal case management systems such as Clio, MyCase, or Abacus/Caret
  • Familiarity with X-Spouse software is a plus
