Description:
Job Responsibilities:Expected tasks include handling new client meetings, analyzing cases for strengths and weaknesses, drafting briefs on behalf of clients for the Social Security Administration, representing clients by appearing in 10-20 hearings per month before the Social Security Administration, drafting Appeals Council briefs, collaborating with legal assistants, case managers and other staff to gain a full appreciation of the client's case, participating in discussions and mock oral arguments to prepare for court.
Job Requirements:
Bar admission in any state is required. Social Security experience preferred, but will consider an inexperienced candidate who demonstrates the following:
- Demonstrated interest in helping others
- Ability to quickly learn a new area of law
- Receptive to training and coaching; ability to implement feedback quickly
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and desire to work with a team on a regular basis
- Excellent legal writing, analysis and oral advocacy skills
- Excellent organization and time management skills
