Job Summary:
Platt & Westby is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join our growing legal team. This position gives you the opportunity to expand on your foundation in a varied practice across civil litigation, family law, and probate matters. The ideal candidate has 1-3 years of legal experience and is motivated and eager to acquire extensive courtroom experience, handle client relationships, and advance professionally within a collaborative and established law firm.

Duties:

Represent clients in civil, family law, and probate matters.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and engagement.
Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and other legal documents.
Attend court hearings, trials, depositions, mediations, and settlement conferences.
Handle the preparation, organization, and management of contracts, sales agreements, and all related documentation.
Proactively manage caseloads while maintaining high standards of client service and responsiveness.
Communicate efficiently with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and third parties.
Aide with case strategy and litigation preparation.
Review and extensively analyze legal documents, contracts, financial records, evidence findings and more.
Organize and maintain accurate case files, billing records, and time entries.
Keep updated on legal developments affecting the firm's practice areas.

Education and Experience:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
License to practice law in Arizona and in good standing with the State Bar of Arizona.
Minimum of 1-3 years of legal experience.
Experience in civil litigation, family law, probate, or a combination of these practice areas.
Experience drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
