(QPWB), a multi-office national defense firm and the largest minority owned law firm in the United States, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our Orlando office. About the role:
We are seeking an Associate Attorney with 2–5 years of insurance defense litigation experience to join our growing practice. The ideal candidate will have experience handling personal injury, motor vehicle defense, automobile negligence, trucking, and general liability matters and be comfortable managing an active caseload from inception through resolution.

This position offers immediate responsibility, meaningful courtroom experience, and the opportunity to work closely with experienced litigators representing insurers and their insureds.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage an active caseload from initial investigation through trial, settlement, or other resolution
  • Draft pleadings, specialized defense motions, discovery requests and responses, and carrier status reports
  • Take and defend depositions of plaintiffs, expert witnesses, fact witnesses, and corporate representatives
  • Attend court hearings, case management conferences, mediations, arbitrations, and other litigation proceedings
  • Develop litigation strategy and evaluate liability and damages
  • Maintain regular communication with insurance carriers, clients, experts, and opposing counsel
  • Ensure compliance with court deadlines and client reporting requirements
  • Collaborate with attorneys and staff to provide exceptional client service

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Active member in good standing with the Florida Bar
  • 2–5 years of hands-on insurance defense or civil litigation experience
  • Experience handling personal injury and motor vehicle defense matters required
  • Experience with automobile negligence, commercial trucking, and general liability/premises liability matters strongly preferred
  • Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
  • Experience taking and defending depositions and appearing in court
  • Ability to independently manage multiple litigation matters in a fast-paced environment
