Schouest, Bamdas, Soshea, BenMaier and Eastham is a rapidly growing defense law firm with offices in Houston, TX, New Orleans, LA, Chicago, IL and Boca Raton, FL. We have immediate needs for new associates who are licensed:
Responsible for docket involving Defense Base Act claims by:

providing sound legal analysis, drafting petitions and communicating with clients, Department of Labor and opposing counsel in a timely manner
Review, analyze and summarize claims documents including medical records, incident reports, and employment files
Prepares reports for clients as needed and on schedule
Participate in conferences with the Department of Labor to address issues pertinent to the resolution of files
Communicate clearly and concisely with clients on issues involving Defense Base Act and War Hazards Compensation Act
Experience drafting pleads, discovery and motions, making court appearances, and taking/defending depositions.
MUST be committed to teamwork and cooperation with your team of fellow lawyers while working on everyday tasks.
Must possess excellent legal research and writing skills, a strong ability to think strategically / analytically, and outstanding communication skills
