Description:
Rotharmel Shanks, LLC is a growing New Orleans family law firm seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join our team.We are looking for an attorney with at least five years of legal experience who is comfortable managing cases, communicating directly with clients, and appearing in court. Family law experience is preferred, but not required. Attorneys with strong litigation experience in other practice areas who are interested in transitioning into family law are encouraged to apply.
The ideal candidate is confident in the courtroom, comfortable taking ownership of cases, and able to provide thoughtful, responsive counsel to clients navigating difficult and often highly personal legal matters.
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum of 5 years of legal experience
- Significant litigation and courtroom experience
- Experience preparing for and attending motion hearings and other court proceedings
- Strong client communication and counseling skills
- Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and case-management skills
- Ability to manage cases and deadlines with appropriate independence
- Professional judgment, reliability, and attention to detail
- Louisiana law license in good standing
- Family law experience preferred, but not required
