The attorney should feel comfortable drafting motions and briefs, researching legal issues, sorting through digital files and produced materials, data entry, scheduling, opening and maintaining case files (including preliminary work and investigation of a case before acceptance of it), and completing other ad hoc requests, as needed. Applicants should be able to think quickly on their feet and be prepared to assist in large scale trials, as well as maintain a sense of humor and lightness as the cases handled can be extremely difficult and heavy. Communication, responsiveness to Clients, and collaboration amongst team members Is extremely important as working in a silo does not fit with the firm's structure.
Responsibilities:
- legal and fact research
- drafting motions, briefs, responses, etc.
- Assist with case management; opening files; medical lien searches and organization of records; document requests; discovery; file maintenance; intake of evidence; correspondence, etc.
- Organize and electronically file pleadings in multiple venues.
- Organize and review produced documents and materials
- General Drafting
Qualifications:
- Licensed attorney for 5 years
- 3+ years Civil Litigation Experience Required
- Writing sample required
- References required
