- Prepare legal memoranda, briefs, pleadings, opinions, and other written work products for review and submission by Supervising Attorneys.
- Analyze, summarize, and review complex legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and regulatory filings, and recommend revisions as appropriate.
- Perform discovery, including review and management of electronically stored information (ESI) and hard-copy records.
- Conduct due diligence investigations related to contracts, transactions, and legal matters.
- Evaluate legal claims and assess probable outcomes based on applicable laws, regulations, and precedents.
- Develop case strategies, arguments, and legal theories in preparation for hearings, trials, mediations, and other proceedings.
- Gather and analyze evidence through client interviews, witness interviews, document review, and legal research.
- Search and examine public records and other legal sources to support case development and legal opinions.
- Represent clients before courts, administrative agencies, and other governmental bodies as assigned.
- Advise clients regarding legal rights, obligations, business transactions, liability exposure, litigation risks, and dispute resolution strategies.
- Maintain regular communication with clients regarding ongoing legal matters, consistent with the direction of Supervising Attorneys.
- Collaborate with attorneys and subject matter experts to ensure comprehensive legal representation.
- Supervise Legal Secretaries, Paralegals, and support staff as needed.
- Assist with administrative and management functions related to the practice of law.
- Complete special projects and assignments as directed.
- Maintain compliance with all firm policies, procedures, ethical standards, and professional obligations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the applicable State Bar.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and sound professional judgment.
- Proficiency with legal research platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred:
- Prior experience in litigation, municipal law, public agency law, or related practice areas.
- Experience appearing before courts, administrative agencies, or regulatory bodies.
- Experience handling contracts, transactional matters, and complex legal research projects.
