Jorgensen, Brownell & Pepin, P.C. (JBP) is seeking a motivated and compassionate Probate & Elder Law Associate Attorney with an interest in litigation.
This position offers meaningful client interaction and the opportunity to handle challenging probate and elder law matters, including contested proceedings. What You'll Do:
- Represent clients in probate, elder law, and related litigation matters
- Conduct legal research and analyze complex legal and factual issues
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, correspondence, and other legal documents
- Develop case strategies and assist with discovery, negotiation, mediation, settlement, hearings, and trial preparation
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients throughout their matters
- Manage deadlines, case files, and assigned matters in an organized and timely manner
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and other members of the firm
- Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and client service
What We're Looking For:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in Colorado and good standing with the Colorado Supreme Court
- Two to five years of legal experience preferred
- Probate, elder law, estate planning, or litigation experience is helpful but not required
- Strong legal research, analytical, and persuasive writing skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Sound professional judgment and careful attention to detail
- Ability to manage competing priorities and remain composed under pressure
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
- Proficiency with legal research platforms, case-management technology, and standard office software
- A genuine commitment to helping clients navigate complex and emotionally difficult circumstances
