Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site position. The Firm has a substantial, but not exclusive, practice in labor and employment law. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for sophisticated litigation work in class actions; commercial disputes and maritime. We also typically have matters that involve interesting issues related to the supply chain; technology and efficient transportation of cargo, as well as a transactional practice related to our outside general counsel role for some clients. We handle a controlled number of substantial cases in the six-figure to $15M+ range and our attorneys enjoy in depth practice on a limited number of matters as opposed to a high-volume caseload. Our cases frequently go to trial and the position is appropriate for an attorney who wishes to develop, or maintain, a substantial trial practice.

Qualifications:
- Experience providing legal advice to clients and conducting legal research
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with California employment laws and regulations and/or willingness to learn required
- Interest in maritime law preferred but not required
- Deposition taking skills and interest in same
- Substantial CA discovery experience
- Local or commute friendly to Long Beach (405 & Lakewood Blvd.)
- Membership in the California State Bar is required
- On site work required; the Firm also has a strong remote work capability that compliments the on-site requirement
