Description:

Landry & Azevedo is seeking to add multiple Associate Attorneys with approximately 2–5 years of experience to our Knoxville office as the firm continues to grow.

We are looking for attorneys who are ready to take on meaningful responsibility, work directly with clients, and continue developing as well-rounded practitioners. Successful candidates will have opportunities for courtroom appearances, motion practice, discovery, depositions, negotiations, client counseling, and the development and management of active caseloads.

Landry & Azevedo is a growing general-practice firm serving clients throughout East Tennessee. Family law currently represents the largest portion of our practice, including divorce, custody, child support, juvenile matters, contempt proceedings, and other domestic litigation. Our attorneys also handle a diverse range of matters involving civil litigation, probate and estate administration, wills and estate planning, real property matters and disputes, breach of contract claims, conservatorships and guardianships, and other general civil matters.

We are not looking for attorneys who necessarily fit into one narrow practice-area box. While prior family-law or civil-litigation experience is a plus, the partners are open to expanding the firm's existing practice areas based upon the experience, interests, and strengths of the attorneys who join us. Candidates who have developed experience in other complementary areas of practice and are interested in bringing that experience to the firm are encouraged to apply.

Ideal candidates will have:
  • Approximately 2–5 years of legal experience, preferably involving litigation or substantial client responsibility;
  • An active Tennessee law license in good standing;
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills;
  • Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, agreements, and proposed orders;
  • Courtroom, hearing, deposition, or trial experience;
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts;
  • The organizational ability to independently manage cases, deadlines, and client matters;
  • Sound judgment, professionalism, initiative, and attention to detail; and
  • A desire to grow professionally and assume increasing responsibility within the firm.

At Landry & Azevedo, associates are given significant hands-on experience, direct mentorship from the firm's partners, meaningful client interaction, and opportunities to take an active role in the development, preparation, negotiation, and trial of cases.

We are interested in attorneys who want to do more than simply fill a position. We want to add lawyers who are interested in building their own areas of experience, developing a practice, and growing with the firm over the long term.
