Job Overview:Herschensohn Law, PLLC is an established, mid-size Plaintiff personal injury law firm seeking an Associate Attorney to work in our Kent, WA office. The Associate Attorney will oversee the firm's pre-litigation operations and staff to ensure efficient case handling and exceptional client service. The candidate must be a licensed Washington attorney in good standing.
To be successful in this position, the candidate must have at least 2-3 years of experience, ideally in personal injury law, the ability to multitask, strong attention to detail, good time management skills, strong writing skills, and the ability to work well with clients and colleagues. This is a full-time, in-office position at our Kent, WA office from 8:30am-5:00pm Monday-Friday. Starting salary is based on years of experience, with salary range of $125,000-$180,000 per year plus bonuses. Annual bonuses will be based on the fee generation of the pre-litigation team. Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee cases from initial intake through pre-litigation settlement
- Analyze cases to address liability and coverage issues
- Review and edit demand packages
- Communicate with clients regarding legal strategy and negotiations
- Negotiate settlements
- Oversee the settlement process, including approval of settlement statements and trust account management
- Coordinate with the litigation team to ensure a smooth handoff on cases proceeding to litigation
- Oversee the maintenance, development, and implementation of operational systems, workflows, and case management procedures to support scalable growth
- Oversee and manage personnel as needed
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school OR completion of a non-J.D. alternative study program (APR 6)
- Active membership in the Washington State Bar, in good standing
- 2-3 years of experience, ideally in personal injury law
