About the Job:Responsibilities:
- Experience (or willingness to learn) in general legal practice with a special focus on corporate, transactional, litigation, and real estate law.
- Researching and analyzing the law on complex issues and writing a brief for submission to a supervising attorney, or for submission to a 3rd party like client, court, mediator, or arbitrator as needed.
- Appearing in a court of law, arbitration, or other judicial tribunal on behalf of the firm's client and presenting well-reasoned arguments to the judicial body.
- Analyzing and summarizing complicated legal documents, including contracts, and suggesting modifications to those documents.
- Negotiating with outside parties on contractual issues and legal disputes including settlement conferences.
- Anticipating and mitigating potential legal issues or concerns and developing strategies to avoid costly litigation and reduce risk exposure.
- Performing due diligence in legal matters concerning contracts, agreements, mergers, and acquisitions.
- Additional responsibilities, as directed by leadership.
Qualifications:
- 0-2 years experience as a practicing attorney.
- Licensed to practice law in the state of Texas.
- Graduate of an accredited law school.
- Organized and able to prioritize and plan efficiently and independently.
- Flexible and adaptable.
- Strong project management and multitasking skills.
- Commitment to continuous learning.
