Overview:
Loudermilk Law is a growing boutique law firm in downtown Fort Worth focused on estate planning, probate, estate administration, guardianship, and fiduciary litigation. We are seeking an Associate Attorney who is interested in developing a practice in these areas and wants the opportunity to handle substantive legal work while working directly with clients and experienced attorneys.

This position is particularly well suited for an attorney with 1–5 years of experience who has an interest in probate, estate planning, guardianship, or civil litigation. Newly licensed attorneys with a demonstrated interest in probate, estate planning, guardianship, or litigation are encouraged to apply. Starting salary is negotiable depending on experience.

What You'll Do:
  • Probate Practice – This job function ensures that clients and their cases are advised through the probate processes. This includes identifying appropriate and necessary probate procedures, drafting applications to initiate those procedures, guiding clients through hearings related to those procedures, and representing clients throughout the probate administration.
  • Guardianship Practice – This job function ensures that clients and their cases are advised through the guardianship processes. This includes identifying appropriate and necessary guardianship procedures, drafting applications to initiate those procedures, guiding clients through hearings related to those procedures, and representing clients throughout the guardianship administration.
  • Litigation Practice – This job function ensures that clients and their cases are advised through the fiduciary and probate litigation process. This includes identifying relevant causes of action, drafting pleadings and motions, conducting legal research, reviewing discovery, drafting memos, responding to written discovery, conducting oral discovery, and appearing in court on behalf of clients.
  • Estate Planning Practice - This job function ensures that clients and their cases are advised through the estate planning process. This includes interacting with clients to identify and prepare proper estate planning documents, which may include wills, trusts, ancillary estate planning documents, and other transactional documents.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Texas.
  • Experience or coursework in probate, estate planning, guardianship, or fiduciary litigation.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven ability to advocate for clients effectively.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
  • Excellent writing skills with experience in legal drafting required.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
