Description:
We are seeking an Associate Attorney with a strong work ethic and the ability to learn quickly in the fast-paced world of personal injury law. The ideal candidate will be able to manage personal injury case files from start to finish, including pre-litigation, and litigation including conducting discovery, depositions, motions, and jury trials. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable courtroom experience and develop expertise in personal injury litigation.Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Personal Injury Cases: Handle case files from initial intake to final resolution, including gathering evidence, drafting legal documents, communicating with clients, and negotiating settlements.
- Litigation and Court Appearances: Lead or assist with motions, hearings, depositions, and trials. Be comfortable preparing for and attending jury trials.
- Client Communication: Maintain regular contact with clients, providing updates and explaining legal strategies. Demonstrate empathy and understanding in all client interactions.
- Research and Drafting: Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and other legal documents.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure effective case management.
- Work under Pressure: Be able to handle multiple cases and deadlines, demonstrating the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active member in good standing with the Missouri bar.
- 1-3 years of experience in personal injury or litigation is preferred but not required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfort and willingness to take cases to trial.
- A strong desire to learn and grow in the field of personal injury law.
