Description:

Northern Virginia firm hiring a self-motivated, professional, and detail-oriented Associate Attorney for Traffic and Criminal Court. Experience in Virginia criminal/traffic courts is preferred, but not required. A successful candidate is someone who wants to practice as a trial lawyer and rapidly learn the ropes in state and federal courts. Since there will be extensive new and current client contact, a successful candidate must also possess outstanding attorney-client relationship skills.

Spanish speaker is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Represent clients in criminal defense proceedings. Interest in courtroom practice is a must!
  • Negotiate with prosecutors and other parties on behalf of clients.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients in Spanish.
  • Stay updated on changes in criminal law and procedures.
  • Utilize writing skills to prepare legal correspondence and documents.

Qualifications:
  • Licensed to practice law in Virginia.
  • Member of the Virginia Bar.
  • 1-3 years of law experience preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish / English preferred.

Compensation: $70,000 - $110,000 yearly
