Job Summary:
Walker Injury Law, LLC, an established and growing Plaintiff's personal injury firm is seeking an initiative-taking, detail-oriented associate attorney with 2 to 6 years of experience looking for professional growth and career development. The ideal candidate will manage cases from start to finish to include:
  • Intake and case evaluation
  • Research
  • Draft and review pleadings and motions
  • Attend depositions, mediations and arbitrations
  • Court appearances
  • Trials and/or trial negotiations

Candidates must be admitted to practice law in Connecticut and be in good standing. Compensation commensurate with experience. Attorney fee arrangement for personal referrals. Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies and statutory interpretation.
  • Draft and review legal documents including contracts, motions, pleadings, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
  • Assist in trial preparation by organizing case files, preparing exhibits, and coordinating witness depositions.
  • Manage legal case files efficiently using case management software to ensure timely updates and compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to gather information, provide updates, and clarify legal options.
  • Support attorneys during court depositions and court proceedings by preparing necessary documentation and logistical arrangements.
  • Stay current on procedural law knowledge across multiple jurisdictions to ensure adherence to court rules and procedures.

Skills:
  • Proven experience in personal injury law, and general litigation.
  • Strong research skills with proficiency in LexisNexis and Westlaw platforms.
  • Excellent legal writing skills for drafting motions, briefs, contracts, and client correspondence.
  • Effective negotiation abilities for settlement discussions and client advocacy.
  • Knowledge of procedural law across various courts coupled with trial preparation expertise.
  • Familiarity with legal case management systems for organization and documentation purposes.
  • Exceptional client communication skills with a professional demeanor.
