Overview:
Godfrey, Leibsle, Blackbourn & Howarth, S.C. (“Godfrey Law”), a Walworth County, Wisconsin law firm seeks a full-time associate attorney for its real estate, municipal law and business team.

Godfrey Law's primary practice areas are civil litigation, general business/corporate, real estate and estate planning.

Applicants must be licensed and in good standing with the Wisconsin State Bar. 3L students graduating in Spring 2026 are encouraged to apply. Please submit a cover letter, writing sample, resume, 2-3 professional references, and transcript.

Responsibilities:
  • The position will primarily require working in the following areas: real estate transactions, development, zoning, land use and entitlement, as well as performing legal research, preparing memorandum's, drafting contracts, forming business entities, and participating in mergers and acquisitions.
  • The associate will work directly with experienced Godfrey Law partners, gaining experience and growing their own client base.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; or 3L law student graduating in Spring 2026 with admission to the state bar.

Experience:
No experience in business and real-estate law required, but previous work or internship experience preferred.

  • Strong legal research skills, including familiarity with Westlaw

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Ability to work in-person at the law firm's office in Elkhorn, WI, Monday to Friday, with potential remote work opportunities.
