A Immigration & Family Law Firm needs an experienced Spanish-speaking associate attorney for our immigration law practice. Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in immigration law. Our priority is to deliver compassionate service to our clients and provide them with the best possible outcome. We work primarily with family-based immigration petitions, removal cases, U visas, SIJS, asylum, and VAWA. Must be licensed in any State.

This is a hands-on position, the associate attorney since day one will be working directly with the cases and needs to possess experience in immigration law.

Responsibilities:
  • Meet with clients in our office or remotely to advise on the case and prepare case strategies
  • Prepare legal documents such as declarations, legal pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and orders
  • Prepare and review immigration forms and supporting documents based on the client's needs
  • Help solve legal problems for clients by analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action
  • Divide marital assets, including real estate, when necessary during divorce proceedings
  • Communicate with senior partners, associate attorneys and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation and immigration process
  • Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients
  • Organize and maintain client files to ensure they are kept current

Skills:
Must have a J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school and be an active member in good standing of any State in the U.S.

Able to work with a team and collaborate with co-workers.

Must speak, read and write in Spanish at a Native or advanced level

Excellent communication and negotiation skills, especially in highly stressful and emotional situations
