Job Overview:We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our legal team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work across a diverse range of legal issues, including divorce, modification of custody, modification of support, legitimation, paternity, contempt actions, prenuptial agreements, and appellate work. As an Associate Attorney, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive legal support, conducting in-depth research, drafting legal documents, and assisting with case management. Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and legal opinions.
- Draft clear, precise legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.
- Assist in managing cases from inception through resolution by organizing files, tracking deadlines, and preparing case summaries.
- Support attorneys in preparing for hearings, depositions, negotiations, and client meetings by gathering relevant documentation and evidence.
- Engage in client consultations to gather information and provide updates on case progress under supervision.
- Maintain accurate records of all legal activities and administrative tasks within the law office's case management system.
- Collaborate with team members to develop effective negotiation strategies that advance client interests while ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
Skills:
- Litigation experience is preferred.
- Exceptional research skills to gather relevant case law and statutory information efficiently.
- Excellent legal drafting and writing skills with attention to detail and clarity in all documentation.
- Strong negotiation abilities demonstrated through previous experience or coursework that involved dispute resolution or settlement discussions.
- Effective time management skills capable of balancing multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously within a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with legal administrative processes, including case filing systems.
