Job Overview:We are seeking a dedicated litigation Associate Attorney to join our legal team. The position is predominantly litigation, but also involves transactional work. The candidate will be expected to appear in court on a routine basis. Strong writing skills expected. Maryland bar required; DC bar a bonus.
Duties:
- Conduct legal research using tools such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis
- Draft legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, and contracts
- Assist in case preparation and management
- Participate in negotiations and settlements
- Handle administrative tasks related to legal matters
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the Maryland bar
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with legal research tools like Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis
- Prior experience in legal drafting and litigation support is a plus
