Ferreira Law is hiring an Associate Attorney in Philadelphia. We are seeking a thoughtful, motivated attorney who wants meaningful work, substantive responsibility, and the opportunity to build strong advocacy skills in removal defense, asylum, SIJS, family-based immigration, and federal litigation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced immigration attorney looking to grow in a collaborative, mission-driven practice. Fluency in a second language is not required.

Ferreira Law has been serving clients for over a decade. Located in Philadelphia, Ferreira Law is an established firm with a growing practice.

Our practice focuses primarily on removal defense and family-based immigration, with substantial experience in asylum and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status cases across Pennsylvania and New Jersey. We have also expanded into federal habeas petitions and federal litigation. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-impact cases in a collaborative environment where attorneys are given meaningful responsibility.

About the role:
The Associate Attorney will play an active role in case strategy, legal writing, client advocacy, and court representation. This position is well suited for an attorney who is highly organized, intellectually curious, comfortable with responsibility, and motivated by challenging legal work that makes a real difference in clients' lives.

This is an in-office position 4 days per week, with 1 remote day each week. It is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week role. We value work-life balance and do not expect regular after-hours or weekend work.

Responsibilities:
  • Represent clients in removal proceedings and related immigration court matters
  • Handle Special Immigrant Juvenile Status proceedings in family court
  • Draft briefs, motions, legal memoranda, and other filings for immigration court, the Board of Immigration Appeals, USCIS, and related agencies
  • Attend USCIS interviews and advocate on behalf of clients
  • Conduct legal research and develop strategic, client-centered approaches to complex cases
  • Manage case deadlines, filings, and client communication with strong attention to detail
  • Collaborate closely with paralegals and legal assistants to provide high-quality representation and service

Qualifications:
  • Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania, New Jersey or both
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple matters effectively
  • Interest in complex, challenging, and litigation-focused immigration work
  • Adaptable, resourceful, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle for transportation hearings and interviews
