Overview:We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Associate Attorney specializing in Immigration Law to join our vibrant legal team. Responsibilities:
- Handle affirmative and defensive asylum cases.
- Represent clients before the Immigration Court and USCIS.
- Prepare and file motions, briefs, and appeals before EOIR and the BIA.
- Attend Master Calendar Hearings and Individual Hearings.
- Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda.
- Prepare clients and witnesses for hearings and interviews.
- Review immigration filings prepared by paralegals.
- Communicate with clients regarding case strategy and case updates.
- Assist with federal court litigation, including Mandamus and APA actions, when necessary.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission in relevant jurisdiction
- Demonstrated experience or coursework in immigration law; familiarity with related fields such as family law, employment law, or estate planning is a plus
- Strong research skills utilizing LexisNexis and Westlaw for statutory and procedural law analysis
- Proven ability to draft clear, persuasive legal documents including contracts, motions, and pleadings
- Experience preparing for trial or administrative hearings; familiarity with court depositions is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration
- Knowledge of procedural law requirements across various jurisdictions; experience with case management software is preferred
- Be proficient in Mandarin
