Harrison and Pai, PLLC is a growing immigration law firm with offices in Bellingham and Mount Vernon, WA. We seek an associate attorney to represent clients in front of USCIS, ICE, DOS, and EOIR.Harrison and Pai, PLLC handles a wide variety of immigration cases including both detained and non-detained removal defense, bond representation, family-based and employment-based immigrant petitions, business and employment visas, humanitarian relief, citizenship and naturalization, and appeals work.
The ideal candidate speaks Spanish, cares deeply about immigrant rights, and is passionate about helping to guide immigrants through the legal process. This position requires direct client interaction and collaboration with colleagues. Previous immigration work experience is preferred; however, we are willing to train the right person.

- Analyze client needs, identify solutions, and determine case strategies
- Manage a caseload of removal defense cases in the Seattle and Tacoma Immigration Court
- Prepare and litigate applications for relief from removal, including but not limited to asylum, withholding of removal, Convention Against Torture, cancellation of removal, and adjustment of status
- Bond and Habeas preparation
- Represent clients in family-based immigration matters before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the Department of State, and corresponding consulates around the world.
- Conduct legal research
- Draft and file motions and briefs before the immigration court and Board of Immigration Appeals
- Work closely with and provide leadership to administrative staff regarding client needs, case status and strategy.
- J.D. from an ABA-approved law school and an active member in good standing of any bar (Washington preferred). We will also consider a recent graduate with pending bar membership.
- Previous experience in the immigration field a plus
- Superb written and oral communication skills including cultural competence and cross-cultural communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to travel between Tacoma, Seattle, Tukwila, and Bellingham, WA
- Fluency in Spanish or another language is a plus
- Commensurate with education and experience.
