Union Law Group is seeking a California-licensed Associate Attorney to join our San Diego office.

This opportunity is ideal for an entry-level attorney or attorney with up to 2 years of experience who wants to build a career in immigration law while receiving exposure to a broad range of immigration matters.

Previous immigration law experience is not required.

We are looking for someone who is bilingual in Spanish and English, has strong legal writing and research skills, enjoys working directly with clients, and is motivated to learn and grow within a collaborative immigration practice.

What You'll Do:
As an Associate Attorney, you will work alongside experienced attorneys, paralegals, and legal support professionals while progressively developing responsibility for immigration matters.

Responsibilities may include:

Conduct legal research and analyze immigration law issues.
Prepare motions, briefs, legal memoranda, responses, and other filings.
Assist with case strategy and preparation.
Communicate directly with Spanish-speaking clients regarding their cases.
Prepare clients for USCIS interviews, hearings, and other immigration proceedings.
Assist with matters before USCIS, EOIR, BIA, AAO, and other immigration authorities.
Develop experience with family-based immigration, humanitarian relief, removal defense, consular processing, waivers, naturalization, and other immigration matters.
Work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and case management teams.
Participate in professional development, community presentations, and firm initiatives as needed.

Depending on experience and professional development, the Associate Attorney will progressively assume greater responsibility for case management and client representation.

What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications

Active California Bar license in good standing.
Professional fluency in Spanish and English.
J.D. from an accredited law school.
Strong legal research and writing skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Good organization and attention to detail.
Ability and willingness to learn immigration law.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to work 100% in person in San Diego, California.

Experience:
0–2 years of attorney experience.

Previous immigration law experience is welcome but not required. Recent graduates and newly licensed attorneys are encouraged to apply.

Experience gained through internships, clinics, law school programs, clerkships, or other legal environments will also be considered.
