Coons and Crump LLC is an established, client-focused consumer bankruptcy firm dedicated to helping individuals regain financial stability and move forward with confidence. We are seeking an associate attorney licensed in Kansas or Missouri who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about making a meaningful difference in clients' lives.What You'll Do:
- Meet with prospective clients to evaluate their financial situations and guide them through their legal options under the Bankruptcy Code
- Conduct client consultations to draft, review, and finalize bankruptcy petitions and schedules
- Represent clients at 341 meetings of creditors
- Manage Chapter 13 cases from filing through confirmation and beyond, including:
- Attending confirmation hearings
- Resolving trustee and creditor objections
- Drafting and filing motions
- Work closely with a skilled team of paralegals to efficiently resolve case issues and ensure high-quality client service
What We're Looking For:
- Licensed to practice law in Kansas or Missouri
- Experience in consumer bankruptcy or a genuine interest in learning and growing within bankruptcy law. We provide training.
- Excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to helping clients through challenging situations
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing a high caseload
- Tech-savvy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn bankruptcy software (e.g., Best Case)
Compensation & Benefits:
- Starting salary: $80,000+ annually
- Performance incentives: Additional $10,000–$20,000+ expected
