Position Overview:
Straus Meyers, LLP is seeking a highly motivated Associate Litigation Attorney to join our dynamic team of 15 attorneys. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation and a keen interest in insurance defense. As part of our team, you will handle a wide range of responsibilities, from case analysis to trial preparation, all within a supportive and collaborative environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth within a well-respected firm.

Full Remote position available for experienced counsel.

Key Responsibilities:

Represent clients in various phases of litigation, including pleadings, motions, discovery, pre-trial proceedings, and trial preparation.
Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, briefs, and other documents to support the defense of insurance claims.
Engage in deposition and discovery processes, including witness interviews and expert consultations.
Provide insightful analysis and recommendations regarding legal strategy and coverage issues.
Collaborate closely with senior attorneys, partners, and clients to ensure high-quality legal representation.
Participate in settlement negotiations, mediations, and arbitration proceedings as appropriate.

Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the state bar in California
Litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or related fields. ***We are open to train with no experience in this field.***
Strong analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with insurance coverage litigation and/or working directly with insurance carriers.
Proficiency in legal research platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
