Position Overview:Straus Meyers, LLP is seeking a highly motivated Associate Litigation Attorney to join our dynamic team of 15 attorneys. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation and a keen interest in insurance defense. As part of our team, you will handle a wide range of responsibilities, from case analysis to trial preparation, all within a supportive and collaborative environment. Full Remote position available for experienced counsel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in various phases of litigation, including pleadings, motions, discovery, pre-trial proceedings, and trial preparation.
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, briefs, and other documents to support the defense of insurance claims.
- Engage in deposition and discovery processes, including witness interviews and expert consultations.
- Provide insightful analysis and recommendations regarding legal strategy and coverage issues.
- Collaborate closely with senior attorneys, partners, and clients to ensure high-quality legal representation.
- Participate in settlement negotiations, mediations, and arbitration proceedings as appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar in California
- Litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or related fields. ***We are open to train with no experience in this field.***
- Strong analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with insurance coverage litigation and/or working directly with insurance carriers.
- Proficiency in legal research platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
