Singleton Schreiber, LLP is a motivated Attorney to join our firm's Settlement team, who will play a pivotal role in advocating for our clients' rights and delivering outstanding legal services. This position will support the firm's fire practice team.

This will be a hybrid role based in our San Diego office.

Salary: $100,000-$175,000 annually Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in managing the firm's Fire Practice settlement teams, including supervising and mentoring attorneys, paralegals, and support staff across various levels.
  • Draft, review, and finalize legal documents such as settlement agreements, releases, minor's compromises, and other court filings, to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable laws and firm standards.
  • Help manage and monitor compliance with the implementation of settlement terms, including disbursement procedures, deadlines and fulfillment of contractual obligations.
  • Oversee and ensure compliance with state-specific laws, court procedures, and professional rules of responsibility, particularly regarding the distribution of settlement funds.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategy, settlement negotiations, client issues, and procedural compliance.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners to identify opportunities for process improvement, workflow optimization, and the integration of innovative legal technologies.
  • Communicate professionally and empathetically with clients to explain legal processes, settlement timelines, and case updates.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in California.
  • 5+ years of experience in litigation.
  • Management experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe, Microsoft Office products.
  • Proficiency with E-Discovery and law programs such as, ShareFile, PACER, CaseAnywhere, Lexis, Smart Advocate, Everlaw, FileVine and OneLegal.
  • Detail oriented and organized, be a team player, be reliable, and capable of multitasking and managing several time-critical projects under tight deadlines.
  • This position requires excellent written and oral communication skills.
