Overview:Our busy law firm is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. Our firm primarily handles family law, criminal defense, estate planning and civil litigation. New attorneys are welcome to apply - pay is DOE .
Remote work is available for the right lawyer, with a expectation that the successful candidate will appear in person in Court when required.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough legal research on various issues.
- Draft legal documents, including briefs, motions, and contracts.
- Represent clients in court proceedings and other legal matters.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases and provide support in litigation efforts.
- Utilize Lexis and other legal research tools to gather pertinent information for cases.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may affect clients' interests.
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain legal processes and provide guidance.
Experience:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the NM state bar association.
- Experience in family law, criminal defense, and/or civil litigation preferred.
- Strong research skills with the ability to write clearly and persuasively.
- Proven ability to litigate effectively in court settings.
- Familiarity with legal research platforms such as Westlaw is a plus.
