Description:
Job Summary:We are seeking an Entry Level Associate Attorney interested in practicing immigration and family law to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have some experience in immigration law or a strong interest in Immigration Law. This role requires strong legal research and drafting skills, as well as the ability to navigate complex legal issues effectively. The Attorney will be responsible for representing clients before EOIR, ICE and USCIS, providing legal advice, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The attorney will also practice in NY State Court.
An interest in NYS Family Law is a plus.
Duties:
- Represent clients in Immigration proceedings and NYS Court.
- Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies.
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings and motions before EOIR and drafting various immigration benefits applications.
- Advise clients on their rights and obligations under the law.
- Stay updated on changes in the laws
- Collaborate with other attorneys.
- Maintain organized case files and documentation.
- Provide guidance on legal administrative tasks within the law office.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) or LLM degree from a US accredited law school.
- Admission or pending admission to any state bar (preferably NY)
- 1-4 years immigration law experience (immigration internship and externships considered).
- Strong skills in legal drafting and documentation.
- Dedicated to helping immigrants and their families.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
