An established Newport News law firm is seeking an experienced and highly qualified full-time, litigation associate. Experience in insurance defense and or workers' compensation is preferred; however, applicants of varying practice experience will be considered. The responsibilities of this role include preparing court pleadings, briefs, motions, and responses as well as answering discovery. The associate will be expected to conduct research as needed and attend depositions, trials, hearings, etc. The candidate must have good communication skills and able to meet with clients and conduct witness interviews. The candidate must be currently licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia and in good standing with the Virginia State Bar. Also, the candidate should have a juris doctorate from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association. During employment, the associate will be required to maintain licensure by attending CLEs as required.
