Mendez Law Office is a Houston-based immigration litigation practice handling some of the most challenging matters in the field — removal defense, bond hearings, and federal habeas corpus actions. We are growing, and we are looking for an attorney who wants to be in the courtroom, not just the conference room.This is a role for someone who is serious about becoming a skilled immigration litigator. You will carry real responsibility from day one.
What You'll Do:
- Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs for Immigration Court and federal court
- Prepare and try individual merits hearings and removal proceedings
- Represent clients in bond hearings and federal habeas corpus matters
- Develop litigation strategy and conduct in-depth legal research
- Manage client relationships directly, including difficult conversations about case outcomes
What We're Looking For:
Required:
- J.D. and active bar license in good standing
- Strong legal writing skills and attention to detail
- Genuine interest in immigration litigation and trial work
Preferred:
- Texas bar admission
- Prior immigration law experience
- Spanish fluency
- Admission to one or more federal district courts
