Job Summary:
Small, AV-rated Douglas County law firm is seeking a motivated and skilled attorney to join our family law team. As a part of our team, you will be responsible for assisting with legal research, drafting legal documents, negotiating settlements, and representing clients in court. The ideal candidate will have strong research and writing skills, some experience in family law, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. As an associate attorney, and commensurate with experience, billable hour requirements are reasonable and the firm provides supervision, training and guidance as necessary to support a less experienced attorney.

  • Conduct legal research using Lexis-Nexis and/or Westlaw to support ongoing cases
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings and agreements
  • Assist with negotiations and settlements on behalf of clients
  • Prepare for and represent clients in mediations, court hearings and trials
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and documentation
  • Provide legal administrative support as needed

  • Admission to the state bar association
  • Strong research and analytical skills

  • Proficiency in legal drafting and writing
  • Experience with family law is preferred but not required
