Description:
A Mid-Sized, Well-Established, General Practice DC Law Firm currently has an opening for a full-time associate-level attorney to join our General Litigation Group. Applicants should have 3+ years of civil litigation experience with courtroom skills and practical knowledge of construction issues, contracts, personal injury, social services provider operations (private schools, daycare centers, treatment facilities, etc.), and professional liability matters. Any additional experience with real estate disputes and/or community association issues would be particularly valuable.Key Responsibilities:
- Draft pleadings and discovery motions; appear in court and argue motions
- Draft and respond to written discovery
- Prepare for and defend clients and expert witnesses at deposition
- Prepare for and take fact and expert witness depositions of adverse parties
- Draft dispositive motions and present oral argument where appropriate
- Trial preparation
- Attend trial as second-chair or lead counsel where appropriate
- Prepare legal memoranda, status reports and budgets for clients
Education and Qualification Requirements:
- JD from accredited law school
- Admission to VA Bar required
- Admission to MD and DC bars (or waiver eligibility) preferred
- 3+ years civil litigation experience

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task a diverse caseload and meet deadlines
