A National Boutique Law Firm is seeking an experienced associate attorney to join our San Francisco, California practice group. A National Boutique Law Firm has a strong national presence and offices throughout the U.S. The firm offers our clients litigation support in many different areas of law, including general liability, premises liability, and labor and employment law. The ideal candidate would have 1-10+ years of experience working in a general litigation firm, be willing to work in-office at least 3 days a week and have the ability to run cases independently, with partner input and supervision.

This position requires legal research, drafting of pleadings motions and other documents, taking, and defending depositions, drafting, and answering discovery requests, trial preparation and trial assistance. Experience with both state and federal courts is preferred.

Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to deliver strong work product is a must. This position also requires the ability to communicate with both clients and colleagues in an effective and timely manner. This position may require travel for court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, site inspections and depositions. Admission to the state bar of California is required.

What You'll Do:
  • Represent clients in court.
  • Depose witnesses, including expert witnesses as appropriate for your level of experience.
  • Prepare cases for trial and assist at trial as appropriate for your level of experience.
  • Defend challenging cases involving consumer claims, breach of contract claims, general negligence claims, and other tort claims.
  • Update clients through case reporting and telephone conferences about significant developments in litigation
  • Support client development and marketing efforts working with partners.
  • Develop your legal skills through in-firm mentoring, in-house training sessions, and other professional development activities.

What You'll Need:
  • Three or more years of litigation experience.
  • Bar admission in the State of California.
  • Juris doctorate from ABA-accredited law school.
  • Organizational skills to manage a varied caseload.
  • Strong writing skills to communicate effectively to the court, clients, and opposing counsel.
  • Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. Associate attorneys are eligible for quarterly and year-end bonuses.
