Pinellas Family Lawyer, PLLC (PFL) is actively seeking an associate family law attorney to assist with our increasing caseload at our Clearwater office. We strive to work a maximum of 40 hrs/wk w/an average work week being approx 38 hrs. Family law can be an emotionally taxing field and we try to foster and encourage a healthy work-life balance. We find this better allows our team members to focus on a quality product and provide excellent service to our clients. We offer a competitive base salary + bonuses based on individual performance.

Job duties include the following:
  • Prepare non-form motions including motions for contempt, for enforcement, to eliminate child support arrearages, to modify temporary parenting plans, etc.
  • Attend basic hearings and case management conferences
  • Provide first level response to client's emails and phone calls
  • Oversee compliance with Rule 12.285, when applicable
  • Prepare/review and sign routine filings including initial paperwork, other form documents, etc.
  • Review and summarize discovery responses
  • Prepare case plans in collaboration with lead counsel

The ideal candidate has at least two years of family law experience handling multiple types of family law cases. (Candidates with other courtroom/trial experience will also be considered.) Qualities that we are looking for in an ideal candidate include the following:
  • Exceptional organization skills and ability to manage cases in various stages of litigation
  • Creative problem solving skills to help clients find individualized solutions to their legal problems through negotiation and compromise
  • Attentive to detail including reviewing rules and statutes, interpreting same, and ensuring compliance; same with discovery requests
  • Dependabilty when tasked with deadlines or time-sensitive tasks
  • Strong interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to differentiate between assisting client with legal issues and redirecting on non-legal issues
  • Competent writing skills as to be able to prepare first drafts of agreements and stipulations as well as correspondence to clients, opposing counsel, and judges.
