Position Overview:
We are seeking an Associate Attorney to support and grow our estate planning and probate practice. This role is ideal for an attorney who enjoys client interaction, drafting high-quality documents, and working in a small-firm environment where your work directly impacts clients' lives.

The associate will work closely with the managing attorney and experienced support staff and will have meaningful responsibility from day one.

This position is open to experienced estate planning attorneys and is also open to newly licensed attorneys seeking a supportive environment to build strong fundamentals in estate planning and probate law and grow within a reputable and collegial firm.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft and review estate planning documents, including:
  • Wills
  • Revocable and Irrevocable Trusts
  • Powers of Attorney
  • Health Care Directives
  • Meet with clients to gather information, explain planning options, and finalize plans
  • Advise and support clients with estate administration
  • Conduct legal research related to Washington estate and trust law
  • Communicate professionally with clients and financial/tax advisers
  • Maintain accurate case files and timely preparation of work

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Active member of the Washington State Bar Association (or pending admission)
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Strong legal writing and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to timely manage multiple matters with attention to detail

Preferred (but not required)

  • 1–5 years of experience in estate planning, probate, or trust administration
  • Familiarity with Washington State estate and trust law
  • Experience working in a small or boutique law firm
  • Comfort working directly with clients
