Job Summary:Stephen W Gooch PC is looking to welcome a new attorney at our Bristol, TN office during an exciting time for our firm. We are a law firm focused on real estate, estate planning and administration, and business law. Our team has steadily grown in recent years. Starting in Southwest Virginia, we now have offices in Grundy, VA, Bristol, TN, Pounding Mill, VA, and Lexington, VA.

About You: You are an ideal candidate for this position if you are a newly licensed Tennessee attorney or expect to be within the next six months. You will be a preferred candidate if you are also licensed to practice law in Virginia or are willing to become so. Most importantly, we need our candidates to align with our team's core values:

Responsibilities:
- Draft and/or review various closing documents for real estate transactions, both residential and commercial.
- Draft and/or review Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Living Wills, and other estate planning documents.
- Probate Wills and administer estates in Tennessee; assist clients with the probation of Wills and administration of estates in Tennessee.
- Draft and/or review operating agreements, bylaws, and various other corporate documents for corporate formations and corporate transactions.
- Perform legal research.
- Advise clients concerning real and personal property issues, estate planning, estate administration, estate-related conflicts, business structuring, and other business issues and conflicts.
- Perform real estate closings, acting as settlement agent.
- Possibly perform or assist with title examinations.
Experience:
- Juris doctorate is required.
- Tennessee bar license is required.
- Virginia bar license is preferred.
- Attention to detail is required.
