Description:

Associate attorneys are responsible for providing legal representation, conducting research, drafting legal documents, and collaborating with senior attorneys on case strategy. During orientation, they receive guidance on firm protocols, case management tools, and client interaction standards.

Summary:
The attorney will provide legal assistance to clients through: (1) direct representation; (2) individual consultations; (3) preparation of legal tasks including declarations, brief writing, preparation of forms in support of cases assigned by partners and senior attorneys. The attorney will focus solely on matters pertaining to immigration law including removal defense; affirmative asylum applications; employment-based petitions and green cards; U visas; T visas; non-immigrant visas; family-based applications, and naturalization. The attorney will be primarily serving clients who are detained. The attorney will supervise paralegals and work with administrative staff for legal management and billing.

Partners and/or Senior Attorneys

Responsibilities:
Provide direct representation to clients before EOIR; USCIS; CBP; ICE; Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
  • Assign and review casework to legal support staff including legal assistants and paralegals.
  • Stay up to date on immigration law and trends.
  • Compliance with legal management procedures including compliance with case opening/closing procedures; timely entering of data in Docketwise; tracking of all cases including double calendaring of deadlines.

Qualifications:
Law degree and active bar admission in the U.S.
  • 1-3 years of substantive experience in immigration law.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Commitment to working in a diverse professional environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage heavy case load, adhere to strict deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
