Job Description: The ideal candidate will be able to:
  • Provide professional representation to assigned clients;
  • Attend hearings and appearances as scheduled;
  • Provide support and leadership to assigned legal team;
  • Evaluate cases and provide case strategies and/or solutions to legal issues;
  • Perform legal research and prepare pleadings, propound discovery, prepare legal memoranda and/or briefs;
  • Analyze facts, patterns and complex legal issues to provide sound legal advice;
  • Prepare and file documents with courts and relevant agencies

Qualifications:
Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and persuasion skills;
  • Knowledge and proficiency in basic typing skills and computer applications such as MS Office;
  • Ability to handle a high-volume caseload, multiple deadlines, and other tasks simultaneously;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Detail oriented;
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision;
  • Superior client service skills;
  • Perform legal research and prepare legal memoranda and/or legal briefs;
  • Analyze facts, patterns and complex legal issues to provide sound legal advice;
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.

Required:
  • J.D. degree and must be licensed to practice law in the U.S;
  • Admitted to practice law in Texas;
  • 1-3 years of work experience as a licensed attorney.

Preferred:
  • Able to speak, read, and write Spanish fluently;
  • Two years of experience in civil and/or criminal law;
  • Experience in working with victims of trauma (domestic violence, family violence, sexual assault or human trafficking);
  • Demonstrated multi-cultural skills and sensitivity;
  • Experience working with immigrant community.
