An established law firm serving California's Central Coast is seeking an Associate Attorney with two to five years of experience focused on Business and Real Estate law. We are looking for an individual who thrives in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment and is committed to providing practical, results-driven legal services to individuals, families, and businesses. The compensation range is $143,000 to $153,000, which includes a base salary of $75,000 to $85,000 and up to $68,000 in performance-based bonuses.Responsibilities:
- Document Drafting and Review: Draft, review, and negotiate commercial leases, purchase and sale agreements, operating agreements, and other business and real estate contracts.
- Business Advisory: Advise clients on entity formation, corporate governance, compliance, and day-to-day operational matters, offering practical and legally sound guidance.
- Transactional and Due Diligence Support: Assist with business and real estate transactions, including acquisitions, financing, and closings. Conduct title and document review as needed.
- Case Management: Manage a varied caseload with a focus on business and real estate law. Ensure files are properly maintained and deadlines are met in accordance with Firm standards.
- Client Representation and Advocacy: Potentially represent clients (or work with the Firm's litigation team) in business-related dispute resolution, including contract disputes, partnership conflicts, and real estate matters.
- Client Communication and Guidance: Maintain consistent, proactive communication with clients to provide updates, advice, and support throughout the lifecycle of each matter.
- Collaboration and Team Support: Work closely with partners and senior attorneys on strategy, research, and preparation of legal documents. Support administrative tasks as needed.
- Professional Development: Stay current on legal developments in business and real estate law. Participate in continuing legal education to maintain licensure and grow your expertise.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw Precision) and proficient in Microsoft Office and legal document management systems.
- Transactional Experience: Demonstrated experience in commercial leasing, contract drafting, and real estate or business deal closings.
- Litigation Support: Experience in handling or supporting business-related litigation is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Strong drafting, proofreading, and organizational skills to ensure accuracy and legal compliance.
- Communication Excellence: Strong written and verbal skills, with the ability to explain legal issues clearly to clients and colleagues.
