Description:
Duties:- Prosecutes complaints for and on behalf of the County and other official agencies.
- Receives and reviews police reports and arrest warrants from police departments.
- Advises police agencies on proper legal procedures.
- Prepares legal briefs for submission to Circuit and District Courts, Court of Appeals and Supreme Court.
- Represents the people of the State of Michigan in jury and non-jury felony cases in the Circuit Court and District Court; argues cases in front of the Court of Appeals and Supreme Court.
- Assists less experienced Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys by recommending strategies and techniques.
- Exercises a considerable degree of independent judgment throughout each state of the criminal justice process and in the preparation of cases.
- Participates in community outreach programs of personal interest to the applicant that align with the office goals.

Education and Experience:
- Graduation from an accredited law school is required.
- No experience is necessary. Starting salary will be commensurate with experience.
Special Requirements:
- Must be a member of the State Bar of Michigan.
- If awaiting bar results, applicant may be hired in pending passage of bar exam.
