Description:
The following are a summary of the primary duties and responsibilities.- Review police reports and tickets to determine if charges should be filed; complete charging documents and warrant applications.
- Prepare and analyze cases; correspond with defense attorneys for exchange of discovery and making plea recommendations.
- Prepare cases for docket; review facts and criminal records; set dates for trials and hearings.
- Perform research regarding the status of law on issues relevant to cases; assist other with research projects as needed.
- Work with Victim Advocates to assess the case; prepare witness outlines; explain courtroom procedures.
- Represent the State of Missouri at Bench and Jury Trials and Hearings.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings.
- Participate in continued legal education as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Salary based on experience.
Applicants must be a member of the Missouri Bar in good standing, or an applicant for the bar exam awaiting results.
