Description:
Job Responsibilities:- Assist the Law Director in providing professional legal services.
- Negotiate, draft, and review contracts.
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda/advisory opinions.
- Draft resolutions and ordinances.
- Represent the City in court and before administrative bodies.
- Maintain regular on-site attendance and attend evening meetings.
- Act as Law Director in their absence.
- No outside practice of law allowed.
Requirements:
- Accredited law school graduate with an active Ohio law license (no prior discipline).
- Strong knowledge of municipal law, ordinances, charter provisions, zoning, planning, judicial procedures, rules of evidence, legal research/writing.
- Skills in administration, organization, supervision, analysis, and presenting legal material.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships and manage time efficiently.
- Municipal law experience preferred; real estate or transactional law experience a plus.
Salary & Benefits:
Negotiable up to $151,133/year, based on experience and skills.
