Job Description:Operational Legal Support
- Serve as the go-to legal advisor for doctors, advanced practice providers, practice managers, and Regional Vice Presidents on operational and regulatory matters.
- Provide fast, clear, business-oriented legal advice that helps frontline teams keep clinics running smoothly.
- Navigate multi-state operational issues by delivering practical solutions that balance risk and efficiency.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a steady stream of operational contracts, including vendor agreements, services contracts, supply chain deals, and equipment leases/purchases.
- Help streamline and standardize recurring vendor and operational contract terms.
- Lead the legal review of commercial leases for our nationwide clinic footprint, including new leases, renewals, amendments, and subleases.
- Prepare lease abstracts and coordinate with operations and finance on key dates and obligations.
- Partner with HR, Regional Vice Presidents, and practice leadership on employment needs: hiring, discipline, terminations, investigations, wage & hour issues, and FMLA/ADA matters.
- Draft and refine physician and advanced practice provider employment agreements, providing clear and efficient guidance to ensure alignment and timely finalization of terms.
- Partner with outside counsel on employment matters that develop into formal disputes, investigations, or litigation.
- Manage threatened and active litigation, including employment disputes, commercial claims, and malpractice/professional liability matters.
- Work closely with outside counsel when matters escalate, providing strategic direction while managing spend and ensuring alignment with business priorities.
- With the involvement outside expert counsel, oversee responses to medical board, nursing board, and other licensing agency inquiries and investigations.
- Coordinate with compliance, risk, and clinical leadership to ensure accurate and timely submissions.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; eligibility for Florida Authorized House Counsel status if applicable.
- 6–8+ years of legal experience, preferably including in-house work with a multistate MSO, PPM, or other multisite healthcare services organization.
- Strong foundation in employment law, operational contracting, and litigation management.
- Experience advising doctors, clinical teams, or healthcare operations is strongly preferred.
- Exposure to healthcare regulatory or compliance matters (Stark, Anti-Kickback, HIPAA, licensure issues) is a plus but not required.
- Confident communicator who can build trust with practices and operational leadership.
- Proven ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-moving, fully remote environment.
- Practical, solutions-driven mindset — grounded, direct, and business-focused. A collaborative working style and strong interpersonal skills are essential.
