About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking an Assistant General Counsel - Executive Director in Legal as part of the Wealth and Investment Management Division. For additional information on this line of business, refer to the external Careers Site at Wells Fargo Careers.
In this role, you will:
- Engage and influence stakeholders, internal partners, and peers associated with the function or affected by its outcomes.
- Apply cross-disciplinary or specialty expertise proactively to manage the most complex legal and regulatory issues.
- Expertly handle matters that have a significant impact on the Company's operations, strategies, or profitability.
- Develop relationships with and provide guidance to senior leadership, including executive officers, on issues that may present legal, regulatory, compliance, or reputational risk to the Company.
- Be recognized as an expert in highly complex areas of the law, having demonstrated the ability to address significant legal matters, which may span multiple business lines and practice groups.
- Collaborate within the department and across business and staff functions to address legal and risk issues in a manner consistent with the best interests of Wells Fargo.
- Take an active role in the development of more junior staff.
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of Law experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Active State Bar membership or the equivalent in a country outside the United States
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience as a practicing attorney.
- Coordinate across multiple lines of business within Wealth and Investment Management (including retail broker dealer, self-directed channels, investment advisory, private bank and trust and lending) on the development of sophisticated investment solutions for the ultra-high net worth segment.
- Advise Compliance, Risk Management, the WIM business, and other stakeholders on novel product and trading solutions related to crypto and digitized assets, including tokenization.
- Ability to analyze legal and regulatory issues in area of practice and provide effective advice to clients on complex legal matters.
- Extensive experience conducting research and providing counsel and guidance regarding complex legal issues.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work while handling multiple matters.
- Ability to work effectively in a complex environment with a high degree of collaboration.
- Effective in building partnerships, functioning well with project teams, and working for the success of the team.
- In conjunction with Public Policy and other company wide stakeholders develop advocacy strategy for developing business strategies in the absence of clear regulatory guidance.

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$215,000.00 - $355,000.00
