Job Description:
The incumbent serves as an Assistant General Counsel in the Ethics Branch and advises senior leaders, supervisors, and staff on the application of ethic laws and regulations. The incumbent will review public and confidential financial disclosure reports, identify areas for improvement and recommend corrective actions to meet internal and external program requirements. The incumbent will also plan, develop, and present programs for training employees on the laws, rules, and policies that govern the conduct of Bureau employees, and brief leadership and staff on the conflict of interest laws and the standards of conduct. The incumbent communicates with government officials, including officials with the Department of Justice, U.S. Office of Government Ethics, U.S. Office of Special Counsel, and officials in other Executive Branch Departments and agencies, in resolving specific ethical issues.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications: Applicants must have a J.D. degree and be an active member of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction).

Preferred qualification: Prior experience in government ethics or correctional law is preferred, but not required.

Salary:
Current salary, location, and years of experience will determine the appropriate salary level. The possible salary range, including locality pay adjustments, is GS-12 ($102,415-$133,142), GS-13 ($121,415-$158,322), GS-14 ($143,913-$187,093) or GS-15 ($169,279-$197,200).
